The Portland Rose Network
The Portland Rose Network is Portland's Official Mentoring Program & Network for Women of Color. We provide professional and personal development for young women through hosting workshops, mentor / mentee meetings and community events. The program matches high school age youth with mentors, advocates and opportunists in the career and educational paths that best align with each mentees goals. Our mentors are woman of color who offer different types of advocacy, bond and level of preparation for the educational and career worlds that challenge and create barriers for many women of color.
My role: Media Specialist | Mentor
As the person behind the Portland Rose Network social media platforms, I manage the content, photos and videos that we post which include topics, issues and information community and world wide related. As mentors we provide mentees with advice, resources, workshops, events, one on one meetings and written material that will help each mentee grow and reach their short and long term goals.
Women Envision (WE) is my way of giving back to my community by providing mentorship for women of color pursing a higher education. I seek to mentor and advocate young women of color to reach every educational dream they envision. College dreams are possible and I’m here to help guide women who wish to continue reaching their college goals. By providing guidance with financial aid, grad plans and student resources on and off college campuses and career networking opportunities. My hope is to help women navigate through the challenges that are held within the educational system. WE together can make a difference!

TRIO helped me during my educational journey by providing me with advisers that helped me negative the educational system. It’s a student program that I truly believe is life changing when it comes to finding your way around any college system.
The TRIO Student Support Services program at Portland Community College-Cascade Campus (formerly known as Cascade ROOTS Program) provides support services to low-income, first-generation students, and students with a documented disability. The program is part of a national network of TRIO programs tasked with closing the growing achievement gap in American education.
